Amref Health Africa is the largest Africa-based and African-led international health development organization, reaching over 30 million people annually across 35 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. With full operational status since 2002, Amref works to create lasting health change by strengthening health systems and addressing the broader social determinants of health.
Central to this mission is youth development; empowering young people with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to lead healthy and productive lives. Through impactful initiatives like the Kefeta Project, Amref has supported millions of Ethiopian youth in areas such as skills development, health education, employability, and economic empowerment.
Building on this foundation, Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia is currently implementing the Digital Inclusion for Youth (DIY) Project in partnership with Vodafone Foundation and Safaricom Ethiopia. The project responds to the growing demand for digital skills by enhancing the capacity of youth centers and providing practical, market-oriented training to boost youth employability in an increasingly digital economy.
DIY reflects Amref's commitment to sustainable, locally driven solutions through strategic partnerships and is a key step in advancing youth development as part of a broader vision for resilient and healthy communities across Ethiopia.
